It also works for Spanish phrases. But do be careful, these translators are still not super-perfect, but they are great tools.

Do be aware that it is actually impossible to translate 'word-for-word' from any one language to another. Literal translations do not work, and can result in quite interesting, and sometimes disastrous interpretations.

Nevertheless, if you are aware of the limitations of computerised translators, and distrust them accordingly, you will realise that they still do have many useful benefits in allowing you to understand the meaning of a block of text.

If you need a legal document translated, or an important text, e.g. for work, the best bet is still to get a professional human translator, and always ensure that you have a native speaker translating INTO the target language.

So if translating a document INTO Spanish, ensure the translator is a native Spanish speaker, born and bred speaking Spanish.

Also bear in mind that there is considerable regional variation in Spanish, so ensure you get a Chilean if needing a document translated to sell a product in Chile, for example.
